Mens' Tennis

The Mens' Tennis team lost 1-8 to Albemarle. Alex T. and Thomas C. won their match during doubles. Their next match is Monday, April 16 at home against J.M. Robinson.

Womens' Track

Congrats to the Womens' Track team for finishing 1st against Hickory Ridge, Central Cabarrus and Concord in an abbreviated meet on Thursday April 5th.  The team ran REALLY hard and set a number of personal records listed below: Brooke M. 9’0” in the pole vault, Emily B. 8’0” in the pole vault, Gabby H. 15.8 in the 100m dash, Reilly C. 6:33 in the 1600m run, Rachel P. 6:25.9 in the 1600m run, Anna F. 20.7 in the 100m hurdles, Victoria H. 22-4 in the shot put, and Kendall R. 4-6 in the high jump. Ally H., the 4x200m relay, Kayleigh N., and Macy A. all finished 1st in their events on Thursday. Way to go Ladies! The next meet will be at home Thursday, April 19.

Mens' Track

The Mens' Track team finished 1st at the meet yesterday. First place finishers were: Chris L. in 100 meter, Deon P. in the 400 meter, Jonah L. in the 800 meter, Michael D. in the mile, and Colby M. in the shot put. The 4x1 and 4x2 relay teams also came in first place. Congratulations guys! Their next meet will be on Thursday, April 19 at home.

The Varsity Softball game was postponed in the bottom of the third inning. Currently, the game is tied at 1-1. The make-up game has yet to be announced.

Congratulations to the Softball team for their 15-0 SPC Conference victory over A.L. Brown yesterday, moving their record to 8-5 on the season. Brooke S. pitched a perfect game, allowing no hits, no walks and no runs in the 3 inning game. Lindsay C., Brandi H. and Taylor C. each had 2 hits, Sarah H. drove in 3 RBI's, and every MPHS player scored at least 1 run. The Lady Tigers play Thursday at Concord.

Macy A. got a personal best throw of 82’10” and got second place.

The Varsity Softball team played through the fourth inning against Cox Mill until the game was postponed due to weather. The game will be continued as a double header on April 24. The team is currently losing 4-0.

Varsity Baseball

Congratulations to the Varsity Baseball team on completing a sweep on Hickory Ridge with its 6-5 victory last night.  Blain H. picked up the win on the mound in relief and Jake K. got the save.  Jake K. also had a two run triple.  Nick C. and Jacob W. also had RBI singles for the tigers.  The tigers are now 6-5, and 3-3 in conference play.  The baseball team plays again Tuedsay, March 27 at A.L. Brown at 6:30.

Congratulations to the following boys for placing first at the track meet at Concord yesterday. Colby M. Shot Put, Deon P. 400m. The 4x100 and 4x200 relays also won. The relays consisted of Andy H., Chris A., Chris L., Justin U. and Deon P. The boys' track team came in third place at the meet. Congratulations to the softball team for their 3-2 come from behind victory over South Rowan on Thursday night, moving thier record to 7-2 on the season. Brooke S. pitched the first 5 innings, allowing 2 unearned runs, and striking out 5 batters. Taylor C. pitched the final 2 innings to record the win, allowing no hits and striking out 3 batters. Whitley M. went 2 for 4 with a run and an RBI, and Jessica E. and Jordan C. each had 1 RBI. Lindsay C. and Haley P. went 2 for 3 for the Tigers. The Tigers travel to Cox Mill on Friday night for a SPC showdown.

The girls' track team came in second place in the quad meet yesterday at Concord HS.  The following girls came in first place at the meet:  Kayleigh N. - PV, 4x200, Makenzie C. - 200, 4x200, Emily W. - 4x200, Ally H. - 4x200.  Kendall R., Victoria B., and Jessica S. all scored 2nd place points for the first time in a conference meet.   The team scores were:  JM Robinson - 100, Mount Pleasant 85.5, Concord 45, Central Cabarrus 24.5.  Their next meet is at home on Saturday at the Mount Pleasant Invitational. The Mens' Track team finished 2nd in a 4-team SPC meet yesterday.  The scores were HR-97, MP-71, CM and CC with 49. Individual winners were:  Colby M. - shot put, Michael D. - 1600m and 3200m run, Jonah L. - 800m.  2nd place finishers were:  Josh B. - high jump, Denzal G. - 200m.  Also, the 4x800, 4x200, and 4x100 teams all finished second to able to propel us past Central and Cox Mill!  Way to go guys!  Their next home meet is Thursday, March 15 versus 3 non-conference opponents.

Whitley M. and Brooke S. each hit home runs for the Tigers. Brooke S. and Haley P. each had 3 hits and, Whitley M., Brandi H., Sarah H. and Jessica E. all had 2 hits for the Tiger offense. They will play a double header against West Stanly this Friday, March 2 at home.

Varsity Baseball

The Varsity Baseball team beat South Rowan 8-4 yesterday at home. Jacob W. was the winning pitcher, pitching 4 innings and giving up only 2 hits. Jake K. got the save. The Tigers increase their record to 2-0 and play at home Thursday night against Davie County.

Varsity Baseball

Last night the Mount Pleasant Varsity Baseball team traveled to West Rowan. Winning pitcher, Ryan R., pitched a 4 hitter with 12 strikeouts in the 6 innings he pitched. Leading hitters were Blain H.(4), Ryan R.(3), Jake K.(2), Jake R.(2), and Jacob W. The 12-0 win starts the season off 1-0.

Womens' Soccer

The Lady's Soccer Team was at home against First Assembly. Ella W. had 2 goals and Danielle S. added 1 in the 3-3 tie. The girls' next game will be Home vs. Cox Mill on March 13th.

JV Baseball

The JV Baseball Team lost a tough one to West Rowan 3-1. They will face off today (Feb. 28) at South Rowan.
